In 2006, the Town of Stanstead adopted a Welcome Policy to encourage people to settle on the town's territory.

The Town remits a $500 check to all first-time homeowners (homes that are either purchased or newly built) in Stanstead. To qualify, applicants must reside in the house.

The Caisse populaire Desjardins de Stanstead is also offering a $500 check if a mortgage is signed with them.

In order to show its support for families, the Town also offers $ 100 for each newborn or adopted child in Stanstead. The Caisse populaire does the same if the parents open a bank account under their child's name.
