Living in Stanstead
Being under the legislative jurisdiction of the National Assembly of Quebec, municipalities are conferred certain responsibilities which they must assume, namely roads, the fire department, public security, drinking water, sewage disposal, garbage disposal, recreation and culture, parks, urban planning and local development.

At the Town of Stanstead, we wish to offer our citizens the best service possible -- service that is accessible, effective, courteous and professional.

We commit ourselves to listening to every citizen's inquiry and to ensuring good communication between people and the town administration. We strive to offer relevant and accurate information through all of our services. Whether in person at the Town Hall, on the telephone or over the Internet, town employees and elected representatives are attentive to the concerns of all.

In this part of the Website, you will find brief explanations about services we offer, the annual budget, Council minutes (available in French), a summary of bylaws and other useful information.
