Created in 1995 by the merger of three picturesque villages, Stanstead Plain, Rock Island and Beebe Plain, the town of Stanstead is known for its rich history and its architectural heritage. Its many unique buildings, its internationally renowned institutions and its distinctive culture make Stanstead a truly fascinating place.

With a population of approximately 3 000 inhabitants, Stanstead is demographically the third largest municipality in the Memphremagog RCM . Situated on the American border, its economy is dynamic and its granite industry is in constant evolution.
